The adapter has a switch (mechanical button) that allows charging Tesla vehicles with different cable types:

Press in: for Tesla 2020/2021 3/x/s/y.
Kill Switch – automatically stops charging when the connector heats up to 90°C, protecting against overheating.
Anti-Theft Lock – the connector automatically locks during charging and can only be released with the driver’s authorization.
